Landscape art: in the Falkulla district of Helsinki, Finland 2002. Design: Group Arba: Päivi Kiuru, Samuli Naamanka, Merja Salonen and Eeva-Kaisa Berry.
Installation commissioned by the City of Helsinki for the new Falkulla residential area. The work is based on the area's past. The idea of transferring old pictures onto concrete is intended to bring out the layers of history in an area that glistens with newness. The photographs used give some idea of life in the former building, the Helluntaipalsta, which formerly stood in the area. The pictures on the concrete slabs give residents who are new to the area the chance to get a glimpse of the past. The work was completed in summer 2005.
